Thanks in huge part to support by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), Jialei Jiang and I were able to complete a 2-year project in examining how teachers of writing design, deploy, and evaluate community-based service-learning activities.

In this chapter, my colleagues Ann Hill Duin and Isabel Pedersen and I share our experience in teaching with a digital archive that traces the emergence of new technologies.
